Greenstone Mine – Mine Dispatcher

Greenstone Gold Mines L.P. is a 60/40 joint venture partnership between Equinox Gold and Orion Mine Finance Group formed for the purpose of the joint ownership and development of the Greenstone Gold Property including the Greenstone Mine located on a historical mine site in the Geraldton-Beardmore Greenstone belt in Ontario.  The Greenstone Mine is managed directly by a dynamic and experienced Owner’s team, with an estimated $1.5 Billion investment over the three-year construction and commissioning phase, and a 14-year operating life of mine.

Greenstone Mine is seeking a Mine Operations Dispatcher to join our team. Reporting to the Mine Operations Superintendent, the Mine Operations Dispatcher is responsible to safely dispatch the mining fleet in order to achieve daily deliverables based on the mining plan.  Being the main point of contact for operators, the maintenance team, and monitoring specific key performance indicators, the dispatcher will be providing constant support to the Production Supervisor.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

  • Advocate company safety values and protocols through positive leadership.
  • Ensuring crew compliance to legislation and operating standards.
  • Actively monitoring key performance indicators & capturing data.
  • Validate delays and down codes based on time usage model.
  • Monitor fleet utilization, advise Production Supervisors on possible improvements.
  • Planning & executing continuous operation of haul fleet by managing operator breaks.
  • Planning daily line ups.
  • Support the Production Supervisors achieve targets set out in the daily plan.
  • Housekeeping and maintaining clean work area.,
  • Manipulate schedules to ensure both mine & maintenance plans are followed.
  • Coordinating & prioritizing equipment repairs with the maintenance team.
  • Monitor schedules and advise Production supervisors of any gaps.
  • Populate daily reports, for supervisors, Gfs, and Superintendent.
  • Monitor equipment utilization against targets and adjust as required.
  • Monitor crusher feed and adjust fleet destinations to optimize throughput.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Knowledge of Ontario legislation.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work independently as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Candidates must demonstrate good verbal and written communications skills.
  • Proficiency in language of operation.
  • Advanced knowledge/expertise in CAT MineStar.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to create a positive work environment.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to make confident decisions.
  • Able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Willing to adapt and work in an inclusive work environment.

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

  • Minimum of 8 years open pit mining.
  • Able to work in a secluded work area for extended periods of time.

LOCATION

  • This position will be based in Geraldton, Ontario.

Greenstone Mine provides company transportation from multiple pick-up point locations.
